Chris Evans is known for his depiction of Steve Rogers aka Captain America at the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which made him one of the biggest stars of Hollywood. However, outside the superhero sector, Evans has played a variety of roles in various styles, which prove their versatility as an actor. While MCU films dominate the box office, he has also succeeded in some non-MCU projects. He has a look at the three highest -grossing films outside the Marvel franchise here.

Chris Evans’s highest grossing non-MCU movies

Snowpiercer (2013) – USD 87 million

Evans starred as Curtis Everett in Snopier, who was a diastopian science-fi thriller directed by South Korean filmmaker Bong June Ho. Set into a post-epocalliptic world where the last surviving human rides a moving train, the film class struggle and other deep social inequalities. The Curtis leads a revolution against the oppressive upper class that controls the front of the train. The film received deep critical appreciation for its ideas-staggering story, intensive action scenes and entertaining performance of Evans. Snopeiercer earned 87 million USD worldwide, one of the most successful non-MCU undertakings of the actor.

Not another teen film (2001) – USD 66 million

One of the early roles of Evans was not in the film. He played the role of Jake Wiler, who was a conservative high school Jock, which takes an unpopular girl on a condition to convert into a prom queen. Comedy was packed with over-the-top humor and references to films, such as All that, 10 Things I Hate About You and American Pie. While critics were not impressed, the film was a commercial success, earning 66 million USD worldwide and helping Evans to strengthen its legs in Tinseltown.

Street Kings (2008) – USD 66 million

In this crime thriller, directed by David Ier, Evans played a detective Paul Discate, a young and ambitious policeman, who assists the character of Kenu Reaves in highlighting corruption within the Los Angeles Police Department. The film has a star-stad cast, which includes One Whitekar and Hug Laurie, and distributes a stressful, action-pack straitageum. Street Kings grossed USD 66 million globally, and strengthened the Evans’ ability outside the superhero style.
