Choreographer Jani Master accused of sexually abusing a 21-year-old woman, zero FIR registered
A 21-year-old woman has accused Telugu choreographer Jani Master of sexually abusing her multiple times during outdoor shoots. Police have now registered a zero FIR in the case.
A 21-year-old girl has accused choreographer Sheikh Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, of sexually abusing her multiple times. Cyberabad Raidurgam police acted on the allegations and filed a zero FIR against the man.
The woman alleged that she has worked with Jani on several projects and he has been sexually exploiting her for the past few months. The victim said that he exploited her several times while they were shooting together in various cities including Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad. She told the police that Jani also exploited her several times at his house in Narsingi, Hyderabad.
Police have registered a case against the choreographer under sections 376 (rape), sections (2) and (n), criminal intimidation (506) and voluntarily causing hurt (323) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to a report the hinduA senior police officer confirmed the news and said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated. He said, “Since the woman is a resident of Narsingi, the case has been handed over to the police there and further investigation will be carried out.”
The matter was first raised with Telangana Women Safety Wing (WSW) director general Shikha Goyal, who advised the victim to lodge a police complaint. “I advised her to initiate an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and since the allegations involved criminal charges, she was also asked to lodge a case with the law and order police,” she said.
Jaani, who choreographed Salman Khan in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, was earlier sentenced to six months’ imprisonment in a 2015 college brawl case. He was booked under various sections of the IPC, including assault on a woman (354), causing hurt (324) and criminal intimidation (506). However, the Medchal court dismissed the assault charge (354) and punished him under other sections.
Jaani recently choreographed the popular dance moves for the song ‘Aai Nahi’ from Stree 2. He has worked with many big celebrities including Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, Thalapathy Vijay, Dhanush and Pawan Kalyan. The choreographer is yet to comment on the allegations.
