in conversation with Hindustan TimesChitrangada stressed the importance of proper security arrangements and said she was troubled by the scenes of recent incidents. She said, “I was watching those scenes with Nidhi, and it was scary to watch. It’s probably the duty of the agencies managing them to make sure they’re safe. But it was scary. I don’t know how they could put her in that place. How could they let her go? How could this happen to her?”

The actress then recalled the crowd incident when she and John Abraham were promoting their 2013 film I, I and I In a college in Delhi. “John Abraham and I had gone to promote this film that we did a long time ago, I, Me and I. We went to a college in Delhi, and we had to go on stage and then have to leave. The crowd started growing and suddenly I saw that everyone was trying to shoo John away. He looked at me to take me with him. He was trying to protect me and take me to the car. As soon as we got into the car, John took off his shirt, and his entire The back was full of bruises. And nothing happened for me because there were so many women in that college,” she shared.

Chitrangada said that the incident left a lasting impression on her, highlighting that such situations can affect anyone regardless of gender. “I was shocked to see it because he was trying to protect me, so he was behind me and then his whole back got scratched. So it happens to everyone, I think – it’s not just for women,” she said.

Sharing another personal experience, the actor recalled facing similar chaos during public gatherings. Chitrangada further added, “Even at these Dahi Handi events, I remember this happened 2-3 times – he started banging our car, and it got out of hand because he had such close proximity to an actor and suddenly he had access. I was very scared.”

His comments come after a series of recent mob lynching incidents involving female artistes. Last year, during the launch of Prabhas-starrer Sahana Sahana Raja Saab Actress Nidhhi Agerwal was surrounded by fans while leaving Lulu Mall in Hyderabad. She was seen clearly distressed in videos that surfaced online as fans breached security to take selfies, prompting guards to push past the crowd to help her reach her car.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu also faced a similar problem during the inauguration of Sirimalle Sarees in Jubilee Hills. As a large crowd gathered, visuals showed the actress struggling to make her way through the crowd despite the presence of police and private security. Fans were seen moving forward and attempting to take selfies, prompting security personnel to protect Samantha and escort her safely to her vehicle.

Chitrangada Singh’s account has added to the growing demand for stricter crowd control and better security measures for celebrities attending public events, as several such incidents have come to light in recent months.
