Explaining why the role appealed to him, Chiranjeevi revealed that he had wanted to headline a sports-based drama for a long time.
“When opportunities weren’t coming my way, a film called riot It came in Hindi and when I saw it I thought I want to do a similar film. But I never really found directors with that kind of content here,” he said.

It has also generated discussion about Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal of the character, Achiamma, with some viewers criticizing the way the role was written and presented.
Amid the debate, Buchi Babu Sana recently announced that changes will be made in certain parts of the film currently running in theatres.
