This is not the first example that a Chinese woman has drawn a property scam. Last month, a 40 -year -old Shanghai woman, surname Meng, was imprisoned after fleeing her relatives to a tune of Rs 14 crore ($ 1.6 million).
Meng staged a fake marriage with a man who found her hiccups and presented her as a ‘rich’ real estate businessman for her relatives and forced them to buy properties at concessional prices. A court hearing began and he was jailed for 12 years and six months for contract fraud. Jiang, the fake husband got six years as he signed home-giving contracts with the real owners of the flats.
