Dinesh Vijan’s Madock films are currently on Cloud Nine as it became one of the major production houses of Hindi cinema in the previous year. The film company has got the blockbusters- Strey 2 and chewed twice. Like Shraddha Kapoor film, Vicky Kaushal starrer will soon be revolutionary in a club of Rs 500 crore. Here is a look at the three -week box office of both the titles.
Vicky Kaushal’s Chhawa stays below Stree 2 in week 1, but manages to show better trends in week 2 and week 3
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhawa opened with Rs 28.50 crore on day 1, which proved to be a dwarf with a collection of Rs 61 crore by the Mammath Opening Day Collection of Stri 2. Horror-comedy had the advantage of the premiere paid and an Independence Day release. Strey 2 collected a large number of Rs 292 crore net in its extended opening week, while Chha, due to a regular release on Friday, could exceed Rs 209 crore in 1 week.
Although the film Vicky Kaushal was behind Strey 2 in 1 week, it increased very well in 2 and 3 weeks. The historic drama based on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj collected Rs 171 crore in week 2 and Rs 80.75 crore in week 3, while showing better trends from Stree 2.
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer can be more than Rs 139.75 crore in 2 and Rs 66.75 crore in week 3, which can carry a total of three weeks of throat at the Indian box office for Rs 498.50 crore. Despite performing better in the above weeks, Chhawa faced anger of the first week of Stri 2 and stood at around Rs 460.75 crore after three weeks of domestic run.
Overall, Strey 2 enjoyed a gain of Rs 37.75 crore on the last three weeks. The film collected Rs 555 crore on a large scale in its entire run in India. It will be interesting to see if the pride can defeat this figure by the end of its dramatic run.
