Chandigarh Police has issued a strict advisory ahead of Diljit Dosanjh’s concert, banning smoking and drinking in public areas. Violators will face legal action to ensure a safe event.

Chandigarh Police has issued a strict advisory ahead of the much-awaited concert of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh in the city. The Union Territory Police has banned smoking and drinking in public areas, including inside the concert venue, warning of strict action against violators.
“Smoking and drinking is prohibited in public areas. Smoking and drinking inside the venue will be dealt with under relevant provisions of law or removed from the venue,” the police said.
Concert goers are urged to follow the guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Authorities have also deployed additional personnel to enforce compliance and maintain order during the event.
Earlier, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) had issued an advisory to singer Diljit Dosanjh and the organizers of his upcoming show in Chandigarh on December 14.
The advisory prohibits the performance of songs promoting alcohol, drugs or violence, which specifically includes Patiala Peg, 5 Tara Theke and Kes Naam. This instruction also applies to any variations or distorted versions of these songs.
The notice also includes a condition barring organizers from inviting children on stage during live performances where the sound pressure exceeds 120 decibels, a level considered harmful to children’s hearing.
Additionally, the advisory states that alcohol will not be served to persons below 25 years of age, warning organizers of legal consequences under the Juvenile Justice Act and other applicable laws.
