A month after his controversial comments in the context of the tribal community, actor Vijay Devarakonda has been booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The Radargam police in Cyberbad have registered the case and started an investigation.

The complaint was filed by Nenwath Ashok Kumar Naik, who is a resident of the said and the state president of the Joint Action Committee of Adivasi communities. ANIHe objected to a comment made during Suriya’s film ‘Retro’ pre-mixing event.

In this program, Devarakonda mentioned the initiative terrorist attack in Kashmir and said, “Whatever is happening in Kashmir, they also have to educate them (terrorist) and ensure that they do not brainwash. What they will achieve? Kashmir belongs to India, and Kashmir belongs to India.”

He said, “India does not even need to attack Pakistan, because the Pakistanis themselves have attacked them fed up with their government and will attack them if it continues.

In response to backlash, Vijay issued a public apology, stating that his comments never intended to offend or target any community. He wrote, “There was no intention of hurting or targeting any community, especially our Scheduled Tribes, which I respectfully respect and consider an integral part of our country,” he wrote.

Earlier, Hyderabad -based lawyer Lal Chauhan had also filed a complaint against the actor for the same comment, as told by the same comment. Telangana Today,

A complaint filed at SR Nagar Police Station on Thursday alleged that Vijay’s remarks equaled modern-day terrorist activities with historic tribal conflicts, strongly criticized with various quarters.

Meanwhile, Vijay Devarakonda is ready for the next performance in the film ‘Kingdom’.
