The purpose of raising funds is to strengthen the company’s capital structure by optimizing borrowing costs.
The company has informed the stock markets that it will issue up to three lakh unsecured, rated, listed and redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) with a face value of Rs. 1,00,000 each for a total of Rs. 3,000 crores.
NCDs will be listed on BSE.
Previous issues of debt instruments and bonds have attracted significant investor interest.
In October last year, the USD 500 million bond issue was oversubscribed three times, while the NCD issue in June last year was oversubscribed by nearly 60 percent.
The company continues to tap into both domestic and international debt markets.
The latest fundraising comes at a time when the conglomerate is gradually unwinding its balance sheet and refinancing debt to reduce its overall borrowing costs.
