Rumer Willis, the daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, has accused her former partner Derek Richard Thomas of domestic violence and emotional abuse as the two battle for custody of their daughter Louetta.

According to court documents obtained by us weeklyWillis has requested primary physical custody and asked the court to deny Thomas overnight visitation with their daughter until a formal custody evaluation is completed. The filings include allegations of “persistent domestic violence”, coercive control and emotional abuse during their relationship, which ended in 2024.

Willis further claimed that the atmosphere created during the relationship left her daughter traumatized and alleged that several incidents occurred in front of the child or while they were traveling together in a car.

In court filings, Willis alleged that Thomas subjected her to prolonged verbal attacks that often lasted for hours and occurred almost daily. She said she constantly felt like she was “walking on eggshells” and accused him of attempting to isolate her from friends and family.

Willis also alleges that Thomas’s behavior became increasingly erratic after the birth of Louetta in April 2023. She claimed that he often accused her of lying and believed that he and her mother Demi Moore were trying to take the child away from her.

The filing also raised concerns about Thomas’ alleged marijuana use. Willis described an incident in which he claimed he was too incompetent to properly monitor Louetta.

Thomas has denied all the allegations against him. In his response, he said the relationship was unhealthy but rejected claims of violence or coercive control.

“I have not committed any act of domestic violence in any form,” he said in the filing, which also denied allegations related to his parenting and marijuana use.

Thomas further claimed that Luetta was never harmed or neglected while in his care. His attorney described Willis’s allegations as “grossly false” and said Thomas only wanted to remain a committed and caring father to his daughter.

Demi Moore has also recorded a statement in support of her daughter. According to the documents, Moore alleged that Thomas behaved aggressively during Louetta’s birth and disrupted what should have been a happy moment for Willis.

Rumer Willis and Derek Richard Thomas went public with their relationship in 2022 and welcomed their daughter in April 2023. After news of their separation surfaced in 2024, Willis later confirmed that they are living together after their separation.
