The 26-year-old took to his social media handle to write a detailed account of the events that took place at his wedding, including the moment when he recalls his mother hijacking his dance with his wife, “She danced on me in a very inappropriate way in front of everyone,” adding that he has “never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.” She further explained how the pressure for the wedding had started very early on, accusing her mother of canceling the making of the bride’s dress ‘at the 11th hour’, forcing Nicola Peltz to ‘immediately find a new dress’.

Additionally, wedding plans were spoiled due to other issues including seating arrangements, with the 26-year-old claiming, “My mum went as far as calling me ‘nasty’ because Nicola and I had decided to include my maternal grandmother Sandra and Nicola’s maternal grandmother at our table, since both of them did not have their husbands.”

Brooklyn Beckham shared how standing up to her family resulted in retaliation in the form of a directed media narrative: “I have received endless attacks, both privately and publicly, from my parents, sent to the press on their orders.”

She rejected claims that it was her partner who was controlling her and instead placed the blame on her parents for planning her life even at the expense of their professional commitments, “My family values public publicity and endorsements above everything else. The brand Beckham comes first. The ‘love’ of the family is determined by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to pose for a family photo fest.”

The Beckham children include his two brothers Romeo and Cruz, as well as his sister Harper Seven.
