British photojournalist stabbed to death by teenage son in America: Police

A British photojournalist who was tragically stabbed to death while hiking in California is now being charged with murder. Independent Informed.

Paul Lowe, an award-winning photographer best known for documenting conflicts such as the siege of Herzegovina during the Bosnian War, was found dead in the San Gabriel Mountains on October 12.

Authorities confirmed that his 19-year-old son, Amir Lowe, was later arrested on suspicion of murder.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said, “The District Attorney’s Office has filed a charge of murder against suspect Amir Lowe for the murder of his father, Christian Paul Lowe. There are no additional information at this time.”

Rich Lowe has been charged with one count of murder and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday at the West Covina Courthouse, according to police.

The incident reportedly occurred around 3:28 p.m. on Mount Baldy Road near Stoddard Canyon Falls. Officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon and found “a white male adult suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.”

Emergency responders pronounced Paul Lowe dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Department said a man matching the suspect’s appearance was seen leaving the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed a few miles away. The person was detained for further investigation.
