British MP Rupert Lowe has outlined a tough stance towards Pakistan after Britain refused to accept the deportation of convicted rapist Shabir Ahmed. He said any action must be “swift, brutal and brutal” to get the message clear. In a post on Twitter, the Great Yarmouth MP and leader of Restore Britain outlined his plans. He said that if his party had been in power, Pakistan would have been declared a “rogue state” from day one. The idea is to put strong pressure on Pakistan through economic and political steps.Lowe said his plan would stop all immigration to Britain from Pakistan. He also wants to impose trade restrictions and tariffs that could harm Pakistan’s economy. Furthermore, he suggested imposing a tax on money sent from Britain to Pakistan, ending all foreign aid, and even asking Pakistan to repay the money already spent by Britain. He said that this action should not be taken alone. Instead, he wants other countries to join in so that the pressure is greater. According to him, if many countries take action together, it will be difficult for people to find a way to avoid the sanctions.Under his proposal, these tough measures would continue unless Pakistan agreed to take back a large number of deported criminals over time. He said, only after that there can be talks about relaxation of restrictions. The comments come following the recent controversy involving Shabbir Ahmed, who was linked to the Rochdale grooming gang case. Ahmed was jailed in 2012 for serious sexual crimes against underage girls and given a 22-year sentence. However, he was released early after serving almost 14 years and is now living under strict surveillance with a GPS tag.The case has sparked political debate as the UK government is trying to deport him, but has been blocked due to legal rules involving the 1971 Commonwealth Immigration Act, as well as Pakistan’s refusal to accept him.
