2025 opened on a low note for the Hindi film industry. January released Fateh, Emergency and Azad, failed to perform at the box office, raising important questions: Have we lost our middle budget film audience?

Not only the release of January 2025, but it has been since the last few years that the audience likes a big budget tentpol film in theaters, while he waits for small and middle-budget films to appear on OTT. This change can be seen as one of the major results of streaming blooms in India. But this scenario does not mean that small/middle-budget films will not succeed in theaters.

2024 is quite clear when some mid-budget films like Munjya, crew, Srikanth, Article 370, Madgaon Express, and others found an audience and left the box office through a successful tendency. 2023 Release 12th Failure is another prominent example that proves why we can be hopeful about the upcoming mid-relief.

To be honest, it is just material and marketing that acts as a major driving force for the success of any film that does not have a star face. Fateh, Azad, and Emergency could not influence the audience in the first place. All three found mixed for poor word-mouth, which stopped their business to an extent. I hope that the upcoming middle-budget release will get an audience if they manage to receive positive reception from both critics and spectators.

The audiences are definitely peculiar when watching movies in theaters, where they already have a buffet of diverse materials on their fingers. Manufacturers should focus on bringing something out of the box during being very cost-skilled. Regular types of cinema are not favorable nowadays, whether the middle budget or a heavy tentpol film. You must have some extra on the plaater to attract cine-to-cine people.

Everyone’s eyes are now on the performance of the crook Ravikumar. According to the current discussion, Himesh Reshammiya film is expected to leave through a successful run at the box office.
