As expected from a horror film centered around the corpse in the Indian market, a slow start on the ticket windows after 28 years. It started on Friday with a net of Rs 35 lakh, and later on Saturday showed a gain of Rs 50 lakh. Later, the film again remained stable on its first Sunday with a collection of Rs 50 lakh.

While the original franchise of 2002 enjoys a decent fan among some sections of the Indian audience, horror as a style always has its limits in the country. While it is exceptionally performing in the remaining of its target markets internationally, the film’s response in India is very low.

A major factor contributing to its performance in India is not only from Indian films, but also from other Hollywood films. The Indian theater is currently filled with many other releases such as Sitare Zamin Paar, How to Train Your Dragon, Materists, and Balarina, others.
