2. Lawyer arrested for threatening to kill Shahrukh Khan, sent on remand till November 18

Recently, Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Chhattisgarh, has been arrested in connection with the death threat received by Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan on 7 November 2024. Now, in a recent update, Mumbai Court has extended his police custody till November 18, 2024 as the investigation in the case intensifies.

Faizan Khan, a resident of Raipur, was taken into custody on November 12 after he allegedly threatened and demanded Rs 50 lakh from the actor. Bandra Police traced the calls on his phone and caught him in Raipur after transit remand. Faizan’s defense team, led by lawyers Amit and Sunil Mishra, claims that his phone was stolen before the call, suggesting that the threat was part of a larger conspiracy to frame him.

The court raised concerns about whether an adult should be questioned about the source of his or her gifts. The next hearing has been fixed for November 26. Fernandez’s lawyer Siddharth Aggarwal argued that although there may have been a mistake, it was not a criminal act.
