The Bengali film Bohurupi, directed by director duo Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Bengali cinema ever. With an impressive collection of Rs 16.50 crore in just seven weeks, the film has become the highest-grossing Bengali film after the pandemic. It is also the third highest grossing Bengali film of all time.

What sets Bohrupi apart is not only its unparalleled success in Bengal, but its stellar performance in national multiplexes, where it has earned Rs 5.5 crore, a record-breaking achievement for any Bengali film.

Commenting on the success of the film, director duo Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy said, “Boharupi is more than just a film for us; This is a testament to the growing interest of audiences and their desire for compelling storytelling. This journey is not only about numbers, but also about breaking barriers for Bengali cinema at the national level. We are overwhelmed by the love and support the film has received, and we hope it paves the way for more regional films to achieve such milestones.

Bohrupi was made with a budget of Rs 4 crore. Needless to say it is a blockbuster. The film is a vigilante heist drama starring Abir Chatterjee, Shiboprasad Mukherjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty and Kaushani Mukherjee in lead roles.
