A billboard unveiled in central Tehran showing US President Donald Trump and his family members atop US flag-draped coffins has heightened Iran’s message against Washington, with the slogan ‘Blood for blood’ prominently displayed amid the ongoing conflict between the two countries. The mural, installed in Palestine Square, depicts Trump, first lady Melania Trump and their five children: Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr., Eric, Tiffany and Barron atop coffins with the White House in the background, The Telegraph reports. The billboard is the latest in a series of state-produced graffiti targeting Trump as military tensions between the United States and Iran continue to deepen. The demonstration has been accompanied by slogans of ‘Blood for blood’ which, according to reports, threaten to avenge the US-Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s late supreme leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family.Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes on 28 February. His daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and newborn granddaughter were also killed in the attacks. Since then, photographs of Khamenei and his relatives have been displayed throughout Iran, including those taken during his funeral. The latest billboard comes days after another massive display in Tehran’s Enghelab Square showed Trump lying inside an open black coffin, with ‘We Kill Trump’ written beneath it in both Farsi and English. The mural depicted Trump with his eyes and mouth closed, his hair disheveled and his hands resting on a red tie. White graffiti on the coffin also reads, “In memory of the children of Minab”, referring to the southern Iranian city where a strike at an elementary school occurred on February 28.The wall in Palestine Square has for years served as a platform for state-backed graffiti carrying anti-US and anti-Israel messages. Supporters of the Iranian government often gather there waving Palestinian and Hezbollah flags.According to The Telegraph, Tehran’s largest murals have been designed by the Ouj Arts and Media Organization, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Demonstrations have been regularly used to oppose negotiations with the US and promote the Islamic Republic’s regional, nuclear and missile policies. The latest graffiti follows several dangerous demonstrations across Tehran in recent weeks. In addition to depicting Trump inside a coffin, another mural shows his face inside the crosshairs of a rifle, while another features the message, “Who’s next?”, beneath the name of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who died earlier this month. The demonstration comes as the United States has stepped up military operations against Iran. Earlier this week, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces launched fresh strikes on Iranian command centers, air defense systems, missile and drone capabilities and coastal surveillance facilities, including targets near Bandar Abbas and on Greater Tunb Island.Following Khamenei’s assassination, Iranian officials have repeatedly vowed revenge. According to The Telegraph, his son and successor, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has said that those responsible will not die ‘peacefully in their beds’.The billboard comes days after an Iran-backed militia group calling itself the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a $10 million reward for anyone who kills Trump, in what it described as retaliation for the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.Trump had previously warned that any Iranian attempt to assassinate him would draw a ‘severe and devastating’ response from the United States.
