Katy Perry has denied allegations from Australian actress Ruby Rose, who accused the singer of sexually assaulting her at an Australian nightclub more than a decade ago.
A representative for Perry called the claims false and harmful in a statement rolling stone. “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only completely false, but dangerous, reckless lies,” the statement said. It said Rose had a history of making serious public allegations on social media, which the individuals named have denied.

The 40-year-old made the allegations on Sunday night in response to Perry’s post mocking Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance. “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Joe gives what he thinks,” he wrote on the threads.
She provided more details in a later post, saying the 41-year-old man didn’t kiss her, but rather “bent down, pulled her underwear aside and rubbed his disgusting v***** all over my face until my eyes popped open and I vomited all over him.”
Claim of evidence and police report
Rose said he had photographs to support his claim and that several people had witnessed the incident. She also said she filed a police report on Sunday, though she did not clarify whether it was about the alleged assault or some other issue mentioned online.
Although the actress did not reveal any exact date of the incident, she said that it happened ten years ago. Australian reports show both Perry and Rose at Melbourne’s Spice Market nightclub in August 2010.

Rose said he had mentioned the incident before but described it differently. He said, “I told this story publicly but changed it to a ‘funny little addiction story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it.” He said Perry later helped him obtain a US visa, which is why he kept the matter private.
The actress said that she was 20 years old at that time and is now 40 years old. “It took almost 2 decades to say this publicly. While I’m very grateful that I took so long to find my voice, it shows how deeply trauma and sexual assault can impact. Thank you for watching me.”
