What is black gram curry?

Black gram kadhi is different from any other type of kadhi. Traditionally, Kadhi is made with crispy pakodas made from gram flour, onion and potatoes. But black gram plays the main role in this recipe. You can expect the same taste as regular kadhi, the only difference being gram in place of pakodas. Adding gram to this recipe also helps in increasing the protein content in it, making it better than regular kadhi.

What to serve with black gram curry?

Like regular kadhi, black gram kadhi tastes best when mixed with a bowl of hot rice. However, if you don’t like rice, feel free to enjoy the kadhi with regular chapatti. Don’t forget to pair it with some onions and pickles of your choice. You can also keep crispy papad on the side.

How to make black gram curry. Black Gram Kadhi Recipe

Black gram curry is an easy recipe to make at home. First of all, add curd, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric in a large bowl. mix well. After this add water to it and stir well. Keep it aside. Now heat oil in a pan and add chopped cumin and green chillies. Let them cook for a few minutes, then add gram flour and fry well. Add the curd mixture and beat until no lumps remain. Once done, add boiled black gram and simmer on low flame for about 10-15 minutes. Finally add kasoori methi and garam masala. Mix well, serve hot and enjoy! Your black gram curry is now ready to enjoy!
