Bhoot Bangla Advance Booking: Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi’s horror comedy sells 28K tickets on first day at National Chains

Bhoot Bangla is seeing good advance sales at the box office. As of 11 pm (Wednesday), the Akshay Kumar starrer sold around 28,000 tickets across the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day, including Thursday’s preview. It is looking to end the day by crossing the 30,000 admission mark at the ticket window.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror-comedy is on track to sell around 60,000-70,000 tickets by the time the preview shows begin tomorrow night. In comparison, Akshay Kumar’s previous two films, Housefull 5 and Jolly LLB 3, sold 96,000 and 45,000 tickets in both the national chains on their opening day. The pre-sales of Jolly LLB 3 were disrupted due to the VPF conflict between exhibitors and distributors, which means Housefull 5 is a better comp. Direct comp is around Rs. Would suggest an early day of. Total gross of 15 crores, including previews of Bhoot Bangla. Provided it gets better walkup during the day, it may go a little higher.

If it manages to open at the expected level, it will be an encouraging start for the film. It has generated good buzz among the audience, which may give it a head start, but to be successful it will have to prove its worth on the content front. If Bhoot Bangla receives a positive response, the film’s collections will see an immediate increase.

The Hindi film industry has recently seen its biggest blockbuster with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is still performing well at the box office. Earlier, Mardaani 3 and The Kerala Story 2 had shown some good performances and performed well. Now all eyes are on Bhoot Bangla. It will be interesting to see how this Akshay Kumar starrer film performs at the box office.
