In a new update, the much -awaited film ‘Bhoom Chuk Maa’, starring Rajkumar Rao and Vamik Gabbi, will now be released in theaters on May 23, 2025, reversing the first decision to directly enter the OTT.

Originally on 9 May, the film’s plans were interrupted due to increasing tension between Slated, India and Pakistan for a dramatic release. This inspired Madock films to consider an OTT-first release through prime video on 16 May. However, a sudden change did not go down well with the leading multiplex chain Pvrinox, which violated the contract and filed a legal suit with a loss of Rs 60 crore.

According to close sources PinkvillaThe dispute has now been resolved in a cordial manner following a court order. The court ruled in favor of a dramatic release on 23 May, allowing Madock films to resume their campaign starting on 15 May.

While this decision clears the route for the film’s big-screen debut, it has also influenced its digital release strategy. Unlike the normal eight-week window between dramatic and OTT release for Hindi films, ‘Bhool Chuk Maid’ will allegedly premiere on Prime Video after two weeks on 6 June. Insiders in the industry say that this small OTT window is a compulsory one -time exception to the court and will not apply to other upcoming Hindi release.

“While the standard digital release window for Hindi films was after eight weeks,” Bhool Chuk Maa Maa “will debut on prime video in only two weeks – on June 6, 2025 – as per the court directive, the source said.

Despite the initial legal action, Pvrinox has now withdrawn its Rs 60 crore compensation claim, and no monetary disposal will be done by Madock films. An official joint statement of both sides is expected soon.
