Sister-in-law is at home! Fun on the Run, directed by Shashank Bali, continues to perform disappointingly at the box office. The comedy film made Rs. Pair. 10 lakh tally, closing its opening week at Rs. Net 1.35 crore in India.
Starring Asif Sheikh, Shubhangi Atre, Rohitashv Gaur, Mukesh Tiwari, Ravi Kishan and others, the film received a poor response among the audience, which is why it could not do much at the box office. This comedy film, released with Vadh 2, is trying to collect its entire earning of around Rs 10 crore. 1.50 crores or so. It wouldn’t be able to withstand two upcoming releases: O’ Romeo and Tu Ya Main.
Although Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain is one of the top shows on television and has a diverse fanbase, it failed to translate the same fanbase into viewership. Before this, a film has also been made on Khichdi. While it was a hugely popular show on the small screen, it did well on the silver screen. Even Indian TV’s biggest star Kapil Sharma faced back-to-back failures on the silver screen apart from his debut film. He said, the transition from small screen to big screen has not been very fruitful so far.
All eyes are now on the fate of Mirzapur. The upcoming film starring Ali Fazal is all set to release in theaters on September 4, 2026. It will be interesting to see if it can overcome the curse of transition from small/OTT screens to big screens.
