BBMAs 2024: Taylor Swift tops nominations, BTS’s Jungkook gets 6 nods

The 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) are around the corner, with the event scheduled to air on December 12 at 8:00 pm ET/PT (December 13, 6:30 am IST). Zach Bryan leads this year’s nominations, earning 18 nods. Taylor Swift, on the other hand, is in second place with 16 nominations out of 17 entries. Morgan Wallen, who won a record-breaking 11 BBMAs in 2023, is up for 15 finalist entries in 13 categories, including five for her collaboration with Post Malone, I Had Some Help. Sabrina Carpenter, with nine entries, rounds out the top contenders.
Other major finalists include Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Teddy Swims and Tyla (with eight nominations each), Bad Bunny, Benson Boone, Chandler Moore, Naomi Rain, Shaboozie and SZA (with six nominations each). K-pop giants are also in the spotlight, with Enhypen, Jimin, TXT, Stray Kids and Jungkook competing for top honors in the global categories.
Swift and Drake are currently tied for the most BBMAs wins of all time, with 39 each, and have each won Top Artist three times. The duo are nominated for Top Performer again this year, competing against Bryan, Carpenter and Wallen.
The 2024 BBMAs also introduce three new categories: Top Hard Rock Album, Top Hard Rock Artist and Top Hard Rock Song. Hardy is represented in all three, while Falling in Reverse and Linkin Park are represented in two categories. Artists like Beyoncé, Dolly Parton and Post Malone are receiving cross-genre recognition, and Bad Bunny is aiming for a fifth consecutive win as Top Latin Artist, competing with Fuerza Regida, Junior H, Karol G and Peso Pluma.
