Asus is officially announcing the ZenFone 12 Ultra on February 6, which is more than a month earlier in the year than its predecessor.
Asus’ non-gaming flagship smartphone for 2025 hit Geekbench today ahead of launch. Specifically, a prototype has been identified as “ASUSAI2501H.” This has been confirmed to be the model number of the Zenfone 12 Ultra through a previous IMEI database listing.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the ZenFone 12 Ultra achieved a single-core score of 3,036 and a multi-core score of 9,656. Both of these scores are generally in line with what you can expect from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which will undoubtedly power the ZenFone 12 Ultra.
The prototype running the benchmarks has 16GB of RAM, but certainly more options could be offered (for what it’s worth, the base model ZenFone 11 Ultra came with 12GB). The phone runs Android 15 as you would expect from a flagship device launching in early 2025.

Since last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra was basically a ROG Phone 8 Pro with no gaming bells and whistles, the situation may be similar this time too, with the Zenfone 12 Ultra being a ROG by another name (and without). The phone will be 9 Pro. No LED on the back).

So, if that is indeed the case, expect the biggest upgrade over the ZenFone 11 Ultra besides the chipset, which will be a 5,800 mAh battery (300 mAh larger). And not much else. Let’s wait and see what happens.
