Asha Bhosle’s ashes were immersed in Varanasi as per her last wish. His granddaughter Zanai became emotional during the ritual.

Asha Bhosle’s ashes were immersed in the Ganga by her family in Varanasi. Prayers and traditional rites were conducted as per the wishes of the late singer.
Singer Zanai Bhole, his granddaughter, was seen crying during the rituals, which were also attended by his son Anand Bhosale.

Asha Bhosle died on 12 April at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to multiple organ failure. He was admitted to the hospital a day earlier after complaining of chest infection and fatigue. The great singer was cremated with full state honors on April 13 at the Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar.

Zanai wrote in an emotional Instagram post dedicated to her late grandmother, “After a lot of thinking I realized that you taught us how to live, but not how to live without you.. You are missed every second, every hour, every minute with every breath, but I also know that until I hold you in my arms again, you live inside me… (heart emoji) (sic).”

Zanai shared a series of pictures with Asha in her post. One picture shows the singer performing with her son Anand along with Zanai, while the other picture shows her hugging her granddaughter. A third showed her holding a plate of diyas (oil lamps) during Diwali celebrations.
