Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Asha Bhosle’s demise is a deep loss for the country and has left an irreplaceable void in the world of Indian music. He said the iconic singer’s timeless voice and remarkable versatility touched countless hearts and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the demise of Asha Bhosle, whom he called ‘one of the most iconic and versatile voices that India has ever produced’. He praised her “extraordinary musical journey spanning decades” and said that it has not only enriched our cultural heritage but also touched countless hearts across the world.

He said, “Be it her soulful tunes or vibrant compositions, her voice had a timeless sparkle. I will always remember the conversations I had with her. My condolences to her family, fans and music lovers. She will continue to inspire generations and her songs will always resonate in people’s lives.”

Actor Rajat Bedi, who was recently seen in the Netflix series Bollywood’s ba**** Reacting to Asha Bhosle’s death, while speaking to ANI, he said that the death of the iconic singer is a “big loss to the industry”.

Remembering Asha Bhosle, actress Parineeti Chopra shared a collage of photographs of the late singer, actress Rekha, singer Alka Yagnik and herself. Along with the post, she added the text, “Forever (sic).”

Actor Akshay Kumar on Sunday remembered the unique legacy of singer Asha Bhosle. In a social media post he condoled the death of the iconic playback singer. He wrote:

“Words cannot express the loss I feel due to the demise of Asha Bhosle ji. Her steadfast voice will remain immortal forever. Om Shanti.”

Earlier, Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital had confirmed the news of Asha Bhosle’s demise. “Famous playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away at Breach Candy Hospital. She was 92,” he said in a statement to the media.
