Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump held competitive rallies in Wisconsin, trying to outdo each other in the key battleground state, as the race for the White House remains a tight race with five days to go before Election Day.
The latest CNN polls show Harris has slight leads in Michigan and Wisconsin, while she and Trump are tied in Pennsylvania.
According to the findings, Harris holds a lead over Trump among likely voters in Michigan, 48 percent to 43 percent.
Harris is also ahead of Trump in Wisconsin, where 51 percent people support her and 45 percent for Trump, but the contest is tied in Pennsylvania, where both have 48 percent support.
As the White House race remained very close, Trump launched a blistering attack on Harris, using President Joe Biden’s comments that appeared to call Trump’s supporters “trash.”
Wearing a trash jacket, Trump arrived at the rally site in Green Bay, Wisconsin in a dump truck and addressed thousands of supporters, arguing that Harris was not fit to be president.
“My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple: You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans, it’s true. If you hate the American people, which I think they do, And you can’t be president if you hate Kamala Harris. She doesn’t deserve to be president of the United States,” he said.
“Kamala, you’re fired,” Trump thundered.
Trump also spoke to journalists before the rally.
He said, “How do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
“It’s really disrespectful for Joe Biden to make this statement,” he said.
Earlier, Harris distanced herself from Biden’s “trash” comments and said she strongly disagrees with criticizing anyone based on how they voted.
She said, “I am true to what I mean: If elected President of the United States, I will represent all Americans, including those who did not vote for me, and address their needs and their wants. “
The leader of the Democratic Party also warned people against electing Trump.
“On day one, Donald Trump will enter office with an enemies list,” Harris said.
He also discussed various policy issues, including how he plans to cut taxes on small businesses and expand health care coverage for families.
US Presidential election day is on November 5.
More than 59 million Americans have already cast their votes in early voting.
According to official details, of the total number of early votes, 31,018,125 were cast in person and 27,952,363 were cast through mail.
To win the race for the White House, the successful candidate must secure 270 of the 538 electoral votes.
The seven major swing states that are considered important in determining the election outcome are Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
