Arshad Warsi recalls that Akshay Kumar wanted to play everyone’s character in Jaani Dushman
Arshad Warsi recalls his experience of filming the 2002 film Jaani Dushman. He also talked about how Akshay Kumar was keen to play everyone’s role in the film.
Actor Arshad Warsi recently shared a funny anecdote about his experience filming the 2002 film Jaani Dushman. In an interview, he revealed that he had requested the director to kill his character early in the film. He also told how Akshay Kumar was so excited about the project that he was ready to play any role.
In a recent interview with Mashable IndiaArshad Warsi discusses his experience of filming the 2002 film Jaani Dushman, which also starred Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Aditya Pancholi and Manisha Koirala. Reflecting on the film, Arshad humorously shared, “My initial request to the director was, ‘Sir, please kill my character first.'”
He further said, “Jaani Dushman is a cult film. I love it very much. It is the only film in which I have made myself laugh so much. If you look closely, you will see that when I am dying there is a smile on my face. There is a smile. That was a film in which my first request was, ‘Sir, first you hit me‘(Sir, you will kill me first). He said, ‘No, friend, I will kill you after January 2.(No, I will kill you after at least two people)’ I said ok sir.’
Talking about his co-actor Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi shared, “He is incredible. He was willing to do anyone’s role. He said, ‘Whoever kills, I will come after him.‘ (I will come as the reincarnation of whoever dies)” Arshad further said, ”In the film, the man can change his look, appearance and Mission Impossible. Everything was happening. Whoever died, Akshay came back like them. A lot of interesting things happened there. It’s a cult classic. That movie is incredible.”
Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani is a fantasy action thriller directed by Rajkumar Kohli. The film collected approximately Rs 16 crore at the global box office.
