Arasan starring Silambarasan TR in the lead role is currently working with Vetrimaaran. Now, it appears that the film will be a relatively quick venture for the producer, as unlike many of his previous projects, the script has already been completed.
Vetrimaaran confirms that Arasan starring Silambarasan will be a quick project
Reportedly, the director gave details about the film at an event and revealed when audiences can expect the footage. Vetrimaaran said, “This time, I wrote the story first and only then went for shooting. It will be a quicker film than my other films. In a few days, we might be able to release some footage. Till then, we are keeping it on hold.”
Commenting on the same, director Ram mentioned that the story of Arasan was written by Vetrimaaran even before he wrote his debut film Polladhavan, which starred Dhanush.
Arasan Vada is set within the Chennai cinematic universe and serves as a spin-off of the Dhanush-starrer. Along with Vijay Sethupathi in the co-lead role, the film also stars Yogalakshmi and Chaitra J Achar in lead roles.
The music in the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with the director.
Speaking about the project with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vijay Sethupathi said, “Vetrimaaran told me five or six stories during the Viduthalai shoot itself. I know the story and script of Arasan, but I don’t know which character I am playing. I am trusting him blindly.”
Silambarasan TR’s workfront
Silambarasan TR was last seen in the film Thug Life co-starring Kamal Haasan. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film tells the story of the rivalry between an aging gangster and his foster son. Starring Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar and Mahesh Manjrekar in pivotal roles, the film received an overwhelming response from both critics and audiences.
Apart from this, Simbu is also set to collaborate with Dragon fame Ashwath Marimuthu for a fantasy action entertainer, tentatively titled STR51. Though unconfirmed, Mrunal Thakur is rumored to have a co-lead role in the film.
