Apple is planning to launch new products in 2024 and the iPhone 16 series is just a part of it. According to recent reports, the tech giant will launch a new version of the Mac Mini, powered by the M4 chip focused on AI power. In a Bloomberg report, Mark Gurman has also confirmed that the upcoming desktop computer will be the smallest ever and will feature the first major design change since 2010.
The report also states that the new device will be much more compact than its previous model, with the size of an Apple TV streaming device comparable to that of an Apple TV box. The diameter of the Apple TV box is about 3.7 inches.
Gurman said this will be the first time Apple will use the same chip generation for all Macs. The M4 chipset is designed to support AI features, which will arrive in October this year.

Powered by the M4 chipset, Apple is focused on making its device even more compact. However, Gurman confirmed that even though the upcoming computer is the smallest, it will still be taller than the current version, which is 1.4 inches high.
The Mac mini will have an aluminum shell. The report claims that the new Mac mini is essentially an iPad Pro in a smaller box. This approach takes advantage of the low power requirements of the company’s in-house silicon.
The current Mac mini costs $599, but even if the new version is more cost-effective to produce, it remains to be seen if Apple will lower the price for customers or maintain the current pricing structure.
Apple has several new Mac releases planned in the coming months, starting with an updated Mac mini. That will be followed by M4 chip-powered iMacs and MacBook Pros later this year, MacBook Airs in the spring, and new Mac Pro and Mac Studio models in mid-2025, all part of the company’s ongoing hardware refresh cycle.
This news has brought a spark of excitement among users. In India, Apple does not go all-in on affordability, but it will be interesting to see if the company will do so with the Apple Mac Mini. The launch could possibly coincide with the launch of its most-awaited iPhone 16 series and iOS 18.
Apart from this, MacBook Air M3 has been launched in India recently. The price of this laptop is Rs 1,14,900.
