Apple has allegedly expanded its retail footprint in India with new stores employed in Noida and Pune. Extension follows Apple’s plans to increase its retail footprint in the country. Currently Apple has its own stores in Mumbai (Apple BKC) and Delhi (Apple SAKET).

According to reports, Apple’s phase in India is in full swing with a plan to open two new stores in Noida and Pune. Cupertino already has two stores, one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai, and confirms that four additional stores are working and coming. Information of two of these has been revealed, which is confirming the places where these stores can be kept.
Financial Express, citing sources, suggests that Apple’s plan to expand retail shops is moving forward, which plans new outlets for Mall of India in Noida and Copa Mall in Pune. According to the report, Apple’s expansion plans also follow strong sales at BKC in Mumbai and Saket in Delhi at their existing stores. Allegedly, with an in-store experience of Apple products, the company witnessed a sharp increase in iPhone sales in India, where its market share reached 11 percent in the October-December quarter.
In fact, despite the cost of the average smartphone in India almost three times the cost, Apple sales have allegedly tripled since 2021. Apple CEO Tim Cook has also highlighted that India has set a record for the sale of iPhone in the December quarter. He also said that the country is a special market.
Apart from Delhi-NCR, Tech giants want to open stores in places in Bengaluru and Mumbai to expand their retail networks. Apple’s plan to increase its retail business has been confirmed by recent job posting on LinkedIn. The company posted several inaugurations with the aim of hiring employees for four new upcoming shops in India. Of 20 job listing, eight posts were for retail roles.
Meanwhile, Apple is also allegedly increasing its manufacturing in India, which aims to move about 25 percent of its global production. This change comes when American tariffs on Chinese goods have produced less viable in China. The company has already started manufacturing all four iPhone 16 models in India, which includes Pro versions, such as suppliers such as Foxconn, Wistron and Tata Electronics.
According to the rising production capacity, Apple recently sent 600 tonnes of iPhones from the US from India on chartered cargo flights, according to Reuters. The company is also allegedly working on initial production schemes for the iPhone 17 in India – a step that usually occurs before mass manufacturing.
Airpods Assembly to start soon in India
Apple’s plans of India are not limited to iPhones. The company is also expected to start collecting airpods in India soon, which will expand its local manufacturing. The step also aligns with the push of the Government of India to promote electronics production through financial encouragement.
With an increase in new stores and local production, Apple aims to strengthen its presence in India – sales market and as a manufacturing basis.
