Apple today announced an update for the MacBook air lineup, including three changes: an updated chip, a new color and an advanced front camera.
The MacBook Air model now gets the latest M4 chip of Apple, which was introduced on IMAC and Mac Mini last year. This chip has 10 CPU core and either 8 or 10 GPU core based on the configuration. Apple claims that the new chip provides 1.6x sharp performance in Excel, 2x sharp performance in iMovie and 2x sharp performance in Adobe Photoshop compared to the M1 model.

The new chip also enables other features such as better external performance support. The M4 Macbook Air supports up to two 6K external displays at 60Hz compared to just one by the previous generation model.
The new MacBook Air models also come in a new color. Called Sky Blue, this new shade is a light blue of a metal that “makes a dynamic shield when the light represents away from its surface”. This color is included in the current midnight, starlight and silver color options.
Finally, the new MacBook Air Model also has an updated 12MP center stage camera, which is also found on the MacBook Pro model. This camera can output high resolution images by maintaining the previous 1080p video capture. Ultra-wide focal length enables the center phase feature, which allows you to move around the room focusing in the frame, as well as a desk view feature, which can correct the correct view in a perspective of your desk as well as both of them.
In addition to these changes, 2025 MacBook Air is similar to the previous model, which features the same original design and dimensions, displays, keyboards and trackpads, memory and storage options, speakers and microphone arrays. The new model has a slightly larger 53.8Wh battery than the previous 52.6Wh unit, but battery life figures are the same.
MacBook Air with M4 is available in 13-inch and 15-inch size, with prices now starts at $ 100 less $ 999 for a 13-inch model and $ 1199 for 15-inch models.
