The first film made by director and actor Anurag Kashyap has not been watched by those who like his style of filmmaking and cinema. But now, they’ll finally get to see it. According to producer Tutu Sharma, this film will be released in 2025.

While talking to Bollywood Hungama, he confirmed that it will be released in five theatres. “Five is definitely coming next year. I plan to release it in theaters within six months. The film was banned, and the negativity got a little worse. The process of restoring them has started. As soon as it is ready, we will release five,” Sharma said.

Sharma also said that earlier disputes with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had been resolved, but due to additional challenges the film could not be released. He expressed optimism about the film’s potential, citing the current trend of re-telecast of such films and the receptive audience.

He also said, “Not only Kay Kay Menon but also Tejaswini Kolhapure is brilliant in the film. According to me, this is Anurag Kashyap’s best film till date. Many people believe so. Once you see it you will agree with me (smiling).”

Starring KK Menon, Aditya Srivastava, Vijay Maurya, Joy Fernandes and Tejaswini Kolhapure, Paanch is based on the 1976–77 Joshi-Abhyankar serial murders in Pune. The film faced trouble from CBFC Due to its depiction of drug abuse, violence and foul language. Although it was eventually approved, its release was delayed due to production-related issues.
