Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has often spoken highly for the South Indian film industry. In an 2023 interview with Pinkvilla, she also said that her films were more box office -friendly if she was born in Tamil Nadu or Kerala. But since they have to make it in Hindi, they cannot do anything about it. In another interview last year, he confirmed going out of Mumbai by 2025.
Now, in a special chat with the Hindu, the Kennedy manufacturer confirmed that he had left Mumbai. Sharing the reason behind this, he said, “I want to stay away from the film people. The industry has become very toxic. Everyone is following unrealistic goals, trying to make a film of Rs 500 and Rs 800 crore. The creative atmosphere is gone.”
While Kashyap did not reveal his place, he said that he had already paid the first month fare for his apartment in the new city. The rumor is that he has moved to Bangalore. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter India last year, Kashyap revealed that he planned to move towards the southern part of India as the joy of filmmaking in Bollywood has been sucked.
He told the publication, “So I want to go out. Really, next year, I am going out of Mumbai.” Anurag Kashyap was also in a hurry to explain that he adopts filmmakers in the south because it is difficult for him to go out and experiment because it comes at a cost.
Popular director-producer is currently busy promoting his Malayalam Flicks, footage, in which Manju Warrier has played the lead role. He is also supporting a Kannada film and will be seen as an actor in two South Indian films.
