Popular daily soap Anupamaa might witness a new leap of 10-5 years with a new cast. Various media reports suggest that the show is going to witness several changes, except for its main cast which includes Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna who play Anupamaa and Anuj respectively.

The show recently underwent a leap of a few months, following which Anuj and Anupamaa were seen shifting to Asha Bhavan, followed by the entire Shah family. However, with a leap of 10-15 years, the makers are planning a completely new storyline, in which Rupali and Gaurav will lead the story, while the rest of the cast looks out of the picture.

The names leaving the show with the leap include Nidhi Shah, Kunwar Amar Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya, Aurra Bhatnagar. Most of these actors have been associated with the show since the beginning.
Neither the makers nor the cast have said anything about this news yet.

Meanwhile, several important cast members left the show this year, including Sudhanshu Pandey (Vanraj) and Madalsa Sharma (Kavya).

In an interview with India Today.in, Madalsa revealed that her character Kavya had lost all her edge. She revealed that she had talked to the makers about reviving the character and giving her some importance in the story, but the writers could not do so because there were already so many characters in the story.

Produced by Rajan Shahi, ‘Anupamaa’ airs from Monday to Saturday at 10 pm on Star Plus.
