Anupam Kher at Tanvi vs Siara Box Office: Even bounce back after SRK 4 flops
Veteran actor Anupam Kher launched his book ‘Different but No Kam’ on Wednesday. Regarding the book while talking to indiatoday.in, which is based on his film ‘Tanvi: The Great’, the actor shared how performance at the box office does not matter so much because he believes in the full journey of the film.

In short
- Anupam Kher is proud of ‘Tanvi: The Great’ with all the box office licking
- The actor believes that the film will find its audience in a few years
- He compares the impact of the film with the ups and downs of Shah Rukh Khan’s career
Actor-producer Anupam Kher reacted to the box office performance of his latest film ‘Tanvi: The Great’. In an interview with indiatoday.in, the experienced actor said that he had no objection that ‘Saira’ performed better at the ticket window with ‘Tanvi’, as he believes that his film would eventually find his audience. He also told actor Shah Rukh Khan that the failure of superstar films does not talk about his skills as an artist.
He said, “I am victorious, and I am not throwing it away. I am proud to be a part of this film and the film will also get his glory in terms of money,” he referred to a social media post that he shared about ‘Siarra’s box office performance on the second day.
Kher explained in detail on the legacy of ‘Tanvi: The Great’. He said that his film is to change “people’s thinking”. The popular actor said, “I am not calling it out of ego or anything, but in the next 7-8 years, it will be called a film that has changed the thinking of the people. It has already been done. I have already received such incredible messages, people are crying after seeing it, because it taps the goodness of them which is completely lost.”
He said, “It taps a girl’s journey, which does not make sense, but to fulfill her dream, because this comes to your mind.”
Both are young heroes in ‘Siara’ and ‘Tanvi: The Great’. Does ‘Siara Ki’ success then talks about the taste of the young audience? Kher said that it is working because a love story has captured the screen after a long time.
He said, “This is now a commercial thing … The kind of advance (advance booking) he got. The system says that we should give more theater to those films that are already doing well. But, I think it has touched the origin of the audience somewhere. But it does not mean that people cannot appreciate anything. I do not agree with it.”
Mahesh Bhatt, who cast Anupam Kher in his first film ‘Sarasash’, recently appreciated ‘Tanvi’, saying that he knows about ‘Siara’s’ success, Mohit Suri did not have a “original voice” like Kher’s film in the film.
Kher thanked Bhatt for standing for his film despite the popular decision in favor of ‘Siara’.
“It makes me feel proud that my guru thinks it touches his soul. When I perform for a film and someone says that your performance has been sold, I feel happy. When I read that quotation – someone forwarded it for me – I read it to my whole team,” he said.
Kher launched his book ‘Different but No Kam’ on Wednesday. The book defines the story of an autistic girl as obstacles in ‘Tanvi: The Great’, but also reflects it with its journey of flexibility.
“I am launching my book today. I talked to all my investors. They are all fantastic. They are saying ‘We are associated with which great film. Whenever you have (money), you give it to us.’ I have no issue.
Kher shared that every film is an experience for him, and even ‘Tanvi: The Great’ taught him a lot as a person. He said that it made him a “better person”.
“When my financier unfortunately could not fulfill his commitment, I could stop the film. I was pushed on the wall, but I gave my best. Because it is only when you can find out your power. I thought ‘I thought’ let me use all my strengths and what I can do.
