Anne Hathaway’s dessert rules go viral, Internet says, "getting a sign made"

Must read

Do you find it hard to refuse dessert? Do you often order more than one dessert at the end of your meal? Are you very conscious about where you get your sweets from? If yes, then you would be interested to know about Anne Hathaway’s dessert rules. The star recently appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show and shared an interesting insight into her love for dessert. In a viral clip from the show, Anne Hathaway can be heard saying that she is really good at ordering dessert. Host Kelly Clarkson asked her for clarification, and asked if she ever gets jealous of the dessert her friend orders. Anne replied with a straight face, “No, I order both.” She further added, “There is no time to refuse dessert… and I believe in combining both. Don’t be greedy, but you have to have a plan. The thing is, everyone really wants to eat most of it.”

She also shared a tried-and-tested ‘mantra’ to identify which places are likely to serve bad desserts. “I love desserts! One thing I’ve noticed is that if a restaurant doesn’t have good bread, don’t worry about the cake. It’s the truth of life,” Anne says. The audience bursts into applause at these words. The Instagram reel garnered millions of views and won the hearts of many online. Many users praised Anne Hathaway in the comments. Check out some of the reactions below:

“‘There is no time to say ‘no’ to sweets.’ A signboard is being made with these words.”

“I like these findings.”

“I love sweets so I totally understand this!!!”

“There is no time to say ‘no’ at dessert time… but there is a time to say ‘no’ in life.”

“That’s especially true of bread and cakes.”

“Anne is the one who said to remove the bottom of the cupcake, put it on the frosting end and eat the whole cake like a sandwich. Clearly, she’s a master at making desserts.”

“Wow! That’s a great insight! And she’s right! I used to work in a bakery. Our bread was as famous as our cakes!”

“As a former restaurant pastry chef (and current bakery owner), I always tell my team that we are the first and last impression guests have of a restaurant, so we must do it the best way possible. So @annehathaway is absolutely right, if the bread isn’t good, the dessert won’t be good either.”

“Clearly she’s no longer a princess-in-training. This is queen-level advice.”

In the viral clip, Kelly Clarkson compared Anne’s bread-cake tip to how bad chips and salsa at a Tex-Mex restaurant can signal that the rest of the meal will be disappointing. Many Instagram users also agreed with the rule.
