The successes and failures of films are a part of an actor’s career and often, they lead to important realizations for him. Recently, Ananya Panday shared how her biggest disagreement with her father and actor Chunky Panday has been about films opposite her. Furthermore, she revealed that she blames him for making Liger, one of the biggest flops of her career, and admits that she was ‘upset’ by its failure at the box office.
Ananya Panday sat down for a candid conversation with her father Chunky Panday on We Are Yuva’s YouTube channel. The father-daughter duo, known for their loving and fun bond, shared some important details about their relationship on the show.
During the conversation, Ananya mentioned that she is unlikely to work with her father again after the failure of her last film. For those in the know, the pair has shared screen space only once in the film Liger, which was a big flop at the box office.
The Call Me Bay actress shared that she was ‘sad’ and disappointed over the failure of the much-awaited film starring famous actor Vijay Deverakonda, where Chunky spoke out and said that he had ‘cursed’ her for doing so.
“We’re not doing a movie together again,” he said. But her father said sometimes it’s important to just go and film, but the 26-year-old said, “No, after Liger you’re not allowed to give me advice.”
He also discussed his choice of opposite films. Chunky revealed that he often suggests his ideas about films to his daughter based on his experience as an actor in the 80s and 90s, when he did more mainstream films.
She said, “The biggest debate in our house was about what kind of films she should do” and added that doing commercial films is in the Ctrl actress’s DNA.
Ananya admitted that she has been a fan of commercial films since childhood and loves working in them, but she always felt that this was the only film.
She said, “The kind of films I watched were commercial films too, and I still like them; I would still love to be a part of them, but I could only watch like that was the only thing I wanted to do. I did not do that.” I don’t know if there was anything else.”
However, working with co-stars Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Shakun Batra’s ‘Gahraiyan’ exposed him to the more creative side of cinema and made him introspect as an actor as he appreciated the creative side of filmmaking. .
On the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen in Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL. She will next be seen in an untitled film based on the life of C. Shankaran Nair, co-starring Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Apart from this, he also has Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya in the pipeline.
