Actor Fatima Sana Sheikh, who is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Metro … in Dino, is best remembered for her breakout role as Geeta Phogat in ‘Dangal’. But many people do not know that he did not audition for almost the film that changed his life. In a special chat with India today, the actor opened about the moment that shaped his career, his love for audition, and the Udham that continues to drive him.
Talking to India today, Fatima recalled the decision to change life, which set it on the way. “I think it was a big change when I did not stop auditioning. When you did not give up, you get the possibility. Because of this I got ‘riot’ and started happening after that,” she said.
Before Dangal, whatever work Fatima did, she came in her way, even she did not fully believe in projects. “Till then, whatever I was getting, I was doing it. Even if it was a bad film, I will do it because you do not have work at that time, just take what you get. So I am lucky to get it.”
Interestingly, he did not audition for ‘Dangal’ almost. “I said that when they offered me the role. I turned Geeta Phogat and told myself, I am not, she was 49 kg, I could not look like her. He told me, ‘How does it matter, you just come and audition.’ So how did it start. “
Despite his success, the actor revealed that he is still an audition. “I like to audition. The struggle inside me comes out,” he accepted. “I have recently auditioned for a film, the role is very, very interesting and I hope I will get it. I research and prepared for that role for two weeks. I read everything about that character and I auditioned. So I really enjoy auditioning.”
‘Metro … In Dino’ is set to release in theaters on 4 July. He also has Netflix’s film ‘AAP Jasa Koi’ in front of R Madavan, which will premiere on 11 July.
