Renowned dairy brand Amul has once again impressed us with its creative and iconic topical ad. This time it celebrates the remarkable achievement of Avni Lekhara at the Paris Paralympics. Avni, the first Indian woman shooter to win two gold medals at the Paralympics, created history by breaking her own previous record with a score of 249.7 in the women’s 10m air rifle (SH1) event. Amul’s topical ad shows a cartoon version of Avni and her compatriot Mona Agarwal, who won the bronze medal with a score of 228.7, wearing Indian uniforms on their respective wheelchairs and showing the victory sign with their butter-smeared fingers.
The catchy phrase “A winner, Lekhara! Give it a try!” and the caption “First Indian woman to win two gold medals in shooting at the Paris Paralympics!” perfectly conveys the essence of her victory.

Avni’s journey to success is truly inspiring. Confined to a wheelchair since the age of 11 due to a car accident, Avni has proven that even the toughest challenges can be overcome with hard work and determination. Mona, who suffered from polio that affected both her legs, began competing in para-shooting in 2021 and has already made her mark on the global stage.

Amul never fails to congratulate record-makers and impress everyone with its funny posts. A month ago, when Indian shooter Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, Amul had another topical post for her. Manu won the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event, making her the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal. Soon, Amul India acknowledged Manu’s achievement with a special topical that showed the shooter proudly holding her medal.
