Amitabh Bachchan remembers late family friend Kamini Kaushal in emotional blog
Veteran Hindi film actress Kamini Kaushal passed away at the age of 98. Amitabh Bachchan mourned her death while remembering their deep family ties before Partition.

Veteran Hindi film actor Kamini Kaushal passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the age of 98. Actor Amitabh Bachchan expressed his grief on his blog, calling him “a dear family friend from the old days”.
Bachchan’s blog read, “And another loss.. a dear family friend from the old days.. when there was no partition.. Kamini Kaushal ji.. a great artiste, an icon, who made a huge contribution to our industry and who stayed with us till the end.. her family and mother’s family were very dear friends in pre-partition Punjab..”
He further added, “Kamini ji’s elder sister was a very close friend of Maji… They were classmates and a very happy group of like-minded friends… The elder sister tragically passed away in an accident and as per the tradition of that time, in such an unfortunate situation, the sister of the deceased was married to her bereaved husband, her brother-in-law.”
The actor further added, “A very pleasant, affectionate and talented artiste has left us at the age of 98.. An era of great remembrance is gone.. Not only for the film fraternity, but also as a member of the friend fraternity.. One by one they all are leaving us.. The saddest moment, now filled only with condolence and prayers.. His brilliant performances of those early days, are now only memories.”
During her peak, Kaushal was considered one of the highest paid female actors of the industry and acted alongside leading men like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor. In the mid-1960s he successfully transitioned from leading roles to character roles.
Kaushal remained associated with cinema even in his later years. His last on-screen appearance was in the 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ at the age of 95.
