Amidst the controversy over Shraddha Kapoor’s film, Vithabai’s daughter supports Eetha title.
The title of the upcoming film Eetha, based on famous Lavani artiste Vithabai Narayangaonkar, had sparked debate, but her eldest daughter has now expressed support for it. She believes the title is appropriate and welcomes the film as a tribute.

However, Vithabai’s eldest daughter has now clarified the family’s position, saying that she has no problem with the title of the film.
The title of the upcoming film became a subject of debate when reports claimed that Mohit Narayangaonkar had objected to the name. eta and demanded that the late artist’s full name be included in the title. The Film and Cultural Department of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also urged the producers to reconsider the title, while stating that they had no objection to the film.

Addressing the controversy, Vithabai’s eldest daughter, Mangala Bansode Karawadikar, 75, dismissed the concerns and told etimes The family fully supports the title.
“We have no objection to the title of the film. I have spoken to Mohit and requested him not to make any further statements on it. The title is appropriate because in those days, people from the villages where my mother performed would often call him that. eta,” He said.
Mangala, herself a renowned Tamasha artiste and President’s Award recipient, revealed that she had shared this detail with director Laxman Utekar during the development of the film.
“I have been performing on stage since the age of seven and have heard people calling my mother by that name,” she said.
Expressing happiness over the biographical film, Mangala said, ‘We are happy that through this film people will know about my mother and how dedicated she was to her art.’
Vithabai Narayangaonkar was one of the most famous tamasha artistes of Maharashtra. He received medals from the President of India in 1957 and 1990 and was honored with the title of Tamasha Samardani by the Government of Maharashtra.
