Director Gautam Vasudev Menon often remains in the headlines for his controversial statements. From openly criticizing some of his films to addressing controversies with actors, the filmmaker has never stopped saying a spade is a spade. Recently, he gained attention when he commented on the rejection of one of his popular films starring Dhanush.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Gautham Vasudev Menon commented that he personally no longer wants to own his film Anai Noki Paayum Thota, which starred Dhanush and Megha Akash in the lead roles.
He said that he regretted making the film and had been joking about rejecting the film for a long time.
However, Gautham mentioned that although he does not want to step away from the responsibilities of the film, he also does not want to be associated with it anymore.
In his words, “The only film I regret doing is Anai Noki Paayum Thota (2019), and I’m joking about it. I am not shirking my responsibilities, but it is just my way of saying that I am not the owner of the film. Other than that, there are no regrets.”
Let us tell you that while working on the sets of this film, the filmmaker had a big fight with actor Dhanush. Even now both do not talk to each other.
Also, if some reports are to be believed, it was Dhanush who directed the film, especially after Anai Noki Paayum Thota was delayed for a long time before its release.
Well, this is not the first time that Gautham Vasudev Menon has openly rejected this film with Dhanush while talking to the media.
For example, in an earlier interview with Galatta Plus, he openly stopped short of identifying the film and even corrected the host, who revealed that it was his own directorial debut.
