Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, the actor addressed the speculations surrounding the film and said that it is not on track at the moment. “Hera Pheri 3 It’s not happening right now (The film is not being made at the moment),” he said, adding that he too was shocked by the development.
Akshay said that while fans are eager to see the original trio together again, several unresolved issues have stalled the project. “The film is not on track for the next one year. There are many issues, but not with us three actors,” he said, referring to Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal. Pointing to the agreements and complexities going on behind the scenes, he said that some matters cannot be discussed publicly.
The film has faced several hurdles in recent months, including an alleged legal dispute over the rights to the franchise and Paresh Rawal’s unexpected exit from the project, which came as a surprise to both fans and Akshay, who had acquired the rights.
Despite the uncertainty, the actor had a hopeful note. “It will happen when the time is right. I just hope we won’t be too old by then,” he said with a touch of humor.
