Akshay Kumar says that he fasts for energy and better health on Monday
Actor Akshay Kumar revealed his weekly fasting ceremony and early dinner habit at a book launch. He emphasized digestion and balanced health on extreme diets.

Actor Akshay Kumar recently talked about discipline regarding his health and fitness. The actor revealed the ritual of his weekly fast, helping him to be energetic and clear.
Akshay, speaking about his weekly fast, in an interview IANSSaid, “I don’t eat at all on Monday. My last meal is on Sunday evening, and then I live without food till Tuesday morning.”
He further insisted on eating his evening meal quickly and said, “It is important to cook dinner at 6.30. At night, our eyes rest, our feet relax, our hands relax – every part of the body relaxes. But if we eat late, the stomach continues to work while sleeping. As long as we wake up, it is also a break.
“Most diseases start in the stomach. If you eat early, say that your food is already digested at sleeping at 6.30 pm. By 9 or 10 pm, your stomach is resting like the rest of your body. It is simple, but it works,” the actor said.
Akshay also emphasized the need to avoid late night, processed food and crash diet. The fitness rule and diet of the actor is often a part of media interaction due to his on-screen personality. He is known for sequenceing action stunts and combat in films as he has a martial arts background.
Akshay was last seen in a cameo in the Telugu epic-Drama ‘Kannappa’, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The film also included Vishnu Manchu, Kajal Aggarwal, Prabhas, Mohanlal and other lead roles.
Akshay will be seen next time in director Subhash Kapoor’s comedy-drama ‘Jolly LLB 3’. The film also includes Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, Annu Kapoor, Boman Irani, Seema Biswas, Sanjay Mishra and other lead roles.
‘Jolly LLB 3’ is scheduled to release on September 19, 2025.
