Speaking on the podcast shared at Shubhankar MishraOn his YouTube channel, Akshay answered questions about his commitment to the roles and the ongoing debate surrounding his presence in the film.
“Look, I’ve been working on a lot of things, a lot of movies and a lot of looks. Like right now, I have this beard. It took me about six weeks to grow it, and during those six weeks, I didn’t work out. So it’s not like that,” he said.
He further explained the reasoning behind the controversial choice. “In Emperor PrithvirajThe story required a particular type of moustache, and that type of mustache could not grow naturally on my face. So yes, maybe the fake mustache didn’t look good, maybe a lot of people didn’t like it. But at the end of the day, it’s acting. It may not be possible for me to grow a mustache like that. But sometimes you have to do this. And I’m sorry if people don’t like it.”
