Akshay Kumar questions history books: We don’t read about our heroes, but about Akbar-Aurangzeb

In a recent interview, actor Akshay Kumar mentioned the need to tell the stories of our ‘history books’ and our brave Indian soldiers. He plays the role of an Air Force pilot in his latest film Sky Force.

Actor Akshay Kumar suggested ‘corrections’ in our ‘history books’ in an interview during the promotion of his latest film Sky Force. The 57-year-old underlined the importance of playing an unsung hero in his films. The actor mentioned the stories of ‘Akbar and Aurangzeb’ in the textbooks, not our soldiers.

in an interview with News18 ShoshaAkshay said that the stories of bravery of Indian soldiers should be a part of our history books. He shared, “There are a lot of things that are not in our books. I deliberately play roles that are not part of our books. I want to do that. They are all unknown heroes.”

The Bollywood Khiladi, as he is popularly called, said, “People don’t know anything about them because no one goes deep. I do these types of roles.”

He stressed, “History books need to be corrected. A lot of things need to be corrected there. We read about Akbar or Aurangzeb but not about our heroes. They need to be mentioned. Is.”

Akshay spoke about the lives of those who have been awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour, and their stories of extreme courage in the face of adversity. He said, “There are a lot of stories of the Army. A lot of people have been awarded the Param Vir Chakra. I feel the history needs to be corrected and such leaders should be brought forward and told to our generation. ”

The actor plays the role of Wing Commander KO Ahuja in Sky Force, the character is based on Wing Commander Om Prakash Taneja, who fought during the India-Pakistan war of 1965. He was awarded the Vir Chakra for his bravery after destroying enemy aircraft and a runway during a risky mission in September 1965.

The film also stars debutant Veer Pahriya, Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan along with Akshay. Sky Force, directed by Abhishek, Anil Kapoor and Sandeep Kewlani, is releasing on January 24.
