Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are one of the most famous couples of Bollywood. They got married in 2001 in a very private ceremony attended by close family and friends. Recently, famous mehndi artist Veena Nagda revealed that their wedding was a surprise. She also revealed that when Twinkle reached her house, she was sitting in plain clothes.
Recently, in a conversation with Pinkvilla’s Hindi Rush, Veena Nadga talked about Twinkle Khanna’s mehndi. She said, “Twinkle Khanna, her mehndi was such that when we went in the morning, she was sitting in simple clothes.” She revealed that when she showed the mehndi designs to Twinkle, she asked if everyone sits to get mehndi applied wearing heavy clothes.
When Nadga said yes, Twinkle also got ready and sat down to get mehendi applied. She told that Twinkle sat for 3 to 4 hours to get mehendi applied and she even asked Twinkle how people sit for such a long time.
Veena Nagda further said, “Her wedding was a surprise.” She said that even after the booking was done, she did not know who she was talking to. Nagda said that she was called to someone else’s house and from there she was taken in a car. She recalled that the driver also did not tell her anything and when she reached there, Dimple Kapadia welcomed her at the door.

Veena Nagda said that she was told that the mehendi would be in the morning and the wedding was to take place the same evening. She said, “Akshay ji did not come as he was shooting.”
Nagda also recalled Twinkle Khanna’s phone call. He said, “She called me and said, ‘Veena ji, very dark colour has come.’ Kyunki humne bola, ‘Subah mehndi aur shaadi ko shaam toh main rang ka kuchh bolti nahi hoon’ (She called me and said, ‘Veena ji, very dark colour has come.’ Because I had said, ‘Subah mehndi aur shaadi ko shaam, so I don’t guarantee about the colour’).”
