Rohit Shetty has cemented his presence as one of the most bankable filmmakers in Bollywood. The Singham Again actor had recently expressed his desire to work with Vicky Kaushal, calling him the ‘next Ajay Devgan’. Meanwhile, the filmmaker also admitted that he would suggest his son Ishaan to follow the career path of the Mahavatar actor.
Recently, in a conversation with Mukesh Chhabra on Mashable India, Rohit Shetty expressed his desire to work with Vicky Kaushal. He appreciated her versatility and the journey in which she started from web shows to small roles and eventually made it big. The filmmaker further added that if his son wants to debut as an actor, he would also suggest him to take some time to gain acceptance from the audience.
Citing the example of the Chhaava actor, Shetty said how he did not emerge suddenly but evolved. Expressing his confidence, he said that if a newcomer has to be launched then a format like Kaushal should be adopted.
“Tomorrow, if my son wants to become an actor, if he tells me that it will not happen, Rohit Shetty is making a film, leave him…we used to do 4-5 small things, 5 years ago. ” Leave the thing along with her for another 5 years, she is doing a web series somewhere, did a small role with her there, got recognition from there, people accepted it then come again…Vicky’s journey has been that. (If my) son wants to debut as an actor, it won’t be a Rohit Shetty film. I would leave her to explore web-shows, small roles and once you get acceptance from the audience (that’s been Vicky’s journey),” he mentioned.
In the same conversation, Shetty lauded the journey of Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt as actresses among the new generation actors.
Let us tell you that Rohit Shetty’s son Ishaan Shetty had taken admission in London’s Central Film School last year in 2023. The proud father had also shared an adorable picture with his son as he dropped him off.
Rohit Shetty’s last directorial venture Singham Again was a box-office success.
